Huaier Research Appears on International Stage to Sing Chinese Voice

From September 4 to 7, the 13th International Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Association World Congress was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Nearly 3,000 delegates, including surgeons and researchers from all over the world, had a fruitful in-depth dialogue to discuss the current hot spots and difficulties in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases in the world.

Associate Professor Chen Qian of the Department of Gastroenterology, Tongji Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, introduced the results of a multi-center, randomized controlled clinical trial to explore the role of Huaier Granules in preventing recurrence after resection of primary liver cancer (HCC). The study lasted for 6 years and included more than 1,000 patients from 39 research centers in China. The results showed that Huaier granules could significantly prolong the progression-free survival and reduce the recurrence rate of patients after liver cancer resection. This study is the first large sample clinical study on Chinese patent medicine in the world. This fruitful research result shows the beneficial effect of traditional Chinese medicine on liver cancer to the world.

China Special Exhibition Chinese Style

Taking the opportunity of this conference, Hubei Chen Xiaoping Science and Technology Development Foundation specially set up "the 13th International Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Association World Congress · China venue", aiming to provide an international exchange platform for Chinese doctors and colleagues attending the conference, so that domestic scholars can quickly understand the academic frontiers and trends in the field of international hepatobiliary and pancreatic medicine, share clinical experience, and draw professional opinions and improve their own research in the discussion and exchange, and then promote the exchange of scientific research and clinical experience of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases in China, and promote the development of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and related disciplines.

Scientific research ideas and design are more meaningful than blind implementation.

Professor Arian Laurence, University College London, explains in detail how to design clinical studies and write clinically relevant articles. Professor Laurence emphasized that the thinking and design of scientific research are often more meaningful than blind implementation. How to select topics and establish feasible clinical ideas is essential to carry out a clinically valuable research. At the same time, Professor Laurence carefully analyzed the writing methods and precautions of each part including the abstract, introduction, results and discussion of the paper, and explained the relevant professional problems and countermeasures encountered in the submission.

Scientific research requires one step at a time Do not forget your initiative mind so as to achieve your final goal

Starting from his own scientific research experience, Associate Professor Chen Qian analyzed "how to make the world understand the clinical research of Chinese doctors", and introduced how to address a rare and rare case encountered in clinical work, and consult and sort out relevant materials, and finally publish the article The process. Associate Professor Chen Qian said that in clinical work, we should carefully accumulate case data, find rare cases and actively report them, and be good at summarizing clinical typical case data and paying attention to the importance of teamwork.

The road to scientific research has not always been smooth sailing. Associate Professor Chen Qian has also experienced many rejections, including the multi-center study of Huaier Granules on liver cancer recurrence published in Gut this year. It was finally published after answering countless editing questions. Therefore, in scientific research, the most important thing is to take one step at a time. Only by not forgetting the original intention can we achieve success.
