2011 Shanghai International Conference on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Held in Shanghai
On April 22-24, 2011, the Shanghai International Conference on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine with the concept of "New Medicine, New Life" was held at the Shanghai Meilan Lake International Conference Center. As a new medical interdisciplinary, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine absorbs and integrates the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine and modern medicine through the comparison, analysis, research and application of scientific thinking, theoretical system and diagnosis and treatment technology of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, so as to achieve the goal of better serving human health in the fields of health care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
Academician Tang Zhaoyou, a famous liver cancer research expert, academician Chen Kaixian, a pharmacologist and president of Shanghai University of traditional Chinese Medicine, and Professor du Bosi, director of the Department of Naturopathy and Integrative Medicine of Duisburg-Eisen University in Germany, and other Chinese and foreign scholars made reports at the meeting respectively. Their reports convey a strong message: after experiencing empirical medicine and experimental medicine, we are gradually moving towards the era of holistic medicine. Integrated Chinese and Western medicine is likely to become one of the medical fields that have made significant contributions to contemporary medicine and achieved original results.
The conference issued the "Consensus on the Development of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine" signed by famous integrated medical experts at home and abroad. The "Consensus" pointed out that integrated Chinese and Western medicine is not a simple addition of Chinese medicine and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment technology. The combination of the two is scientific, standardized and economical.
